Wordless Wednesday: Sundog

Sundog: an optical phenomenon that is sometimes observed in the sky when sunlight interacts with ice clouds or particles in the atmosphere.

  13. I’ve been noticing more and more photos of unusual phenomena in the skies lately–like your sundog. The last one was called a “nightbow”, I think–the nighttime equivalent of a rainbow. Must be our crazy weather.

  17. Gosh that’s gorgeous. I love sun-dogs. Its not always easy to get them show up well in a photo, but you did a dandy of a job. Cool!
