Can You Say “Procrastinate”?

Well, that’s what I’ve been doing recently as far as blog awards go.  My dear blogging friends have nominated These Days for several awards, and I haven’t acknowledged their kindness, nor added the badges to my blog.

So, without further ado, or procrastination, let’s see if I can remedy that situation. My non-blogging readers, if you decide to just skim over today’s post, I’ll understand.

I’ve recently received two “repeat” blog awards. First, I received the Liebster Award from Mama’s Empty Nest, and within her blog post, learned that her name is Cindy!  We’ve all just been calling her “Mama”. Thanks, Mama Cindy!

Also, Hot Rod Cowgirl recently nominated me for the Shine On blog award, which I had previously been given. Thanks, HRC!

Now for the new ones (bear with me, folks, this will get lengthy…):

My dear friend, Pam and her sweet kitty, Sam, of One Spoiled Cat have given me many awards.  I’ll mention this one first, since it has no requirements:

The Family of Bloggers Award.

Not only did I receive The Wonderul Team Member Readership award from Pam and Sammy, but also from some of my newest blogging friends, Nibbles, Basil, Nutty, Buddy at Hutch A Good Life.

Here are the rules:

1. The Nominee of the Wonderful Team member Readership Award shall display the logo on his/her post/page and/or sidebar.

2. The Nominee shall nominate 14 readers they appreciate over a period of 7 days (1 week) – this can be done at any rate during the week. It can be ALL on one day or a few on one day and a few on another day, etc.

3. The Nominee shall name his or her Wonderful Team Member Readership Award nominees on a post or on posts during the 7 day (1 week) period.

4. The Nominee shall make these rules, or amended rules keeping to the spirit of the Wonderful Team Member Readership Award, known to each reader s/he nominates.

5. The Nominee must finish this sentence and post: ”A Great reader is…”

My answer:  “A great reader is one who is able to read between the lines”.

Pam and Sam also nominated me for the Bring On The Nip award, which I guess should actually be Sundae’s award.

All I need to do is thank them, link to them, and tell you all something that I want to celebrate or something good that has happened, and then I can pass the award on to anywhere from ONE to TWELVE others.

Obviously, today I’m celebrating all my blogging friends thinking enough of my blog to share these awards.

Pam and Sam also nominated These Days for The Seven Things ABout Me Award.

The rules for this one are to tell seven things about me and pass the award on to seven other bloggers. Now, this may be the most difficult task in this entire post: coming up with seven things that I haven’t already shared in two years of blogging.

1.) Through the years, I have knitted (but not well), crocheted, sewn, embroidered and cross-stitched.

2). For the past few years, though, my hobby has been hand-crafting all my greeting cards, using mostly rubber stamps, but also incorporating other paper crafting.

3.) I may have already shared this: I’ve been a fan of auto racing since I was a teen-ager, which comes in handy, since Motor Man builds race engines.

4.) I’m addicted to Diet Coke, and yes, I know it isn’t good for me.

5.) I love horse drawn carriage rides and sleigh rides.

6.) I love riding on steam trains.

7.) When I’m home alone, I love the “quiet”. I never turn on the tv, and rarely even listen to music. But don’t try to take away my computer….

And last, but not least, Pam and Sam nominated me for The Blog Of The Year Award.

And here are the rules:

1 Select the blog(s) you think deserve the ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award

2 Write a blog post and tell us about the blog(s) you have chosen – there’s no minimum or maximum number of blogs required – and ‘present’ them with their award.

3 Please include a link back to this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award – http://thethoughtpalette.co.uk/our-awards/blog-of-the-year-2012-award/ and include these ‘rules’ in your post (please don’t alter the rules or the badges!)

4 Let the blog(s) you have chosen know that you have given them this award and share the ‘rules’ with them

5 You can now also join the award’s Facebook group – click ‘like’ on this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award Facebook group and then you can share your blog with an even wider audience if you choose to

6 As a winner of the award – please add a link back to the blog that presented you with the award – and then proudly display the award on your blog and sidebar … and start collecting stars…

Yes – that’s right – there are stars to collect!

Unlike other awards which you can only add to your blog once – this award is different!

When you begin you will receive the ‘1 star’ award – and every time you are given the award by another blog – you can add another star!

There are a total of 6 stars to collect.

Which means that you can check out your favorite blogs – and even if they have already been given the award by someone else – you can still bestow it on them again and help them to reach the maximum 6 stars!

And now for my list of nominees. I must admit that I find it difficult to share blog awards. It seems that most of the blogs I read either: don’t participate in blog awards, already have these, or don’t give any indication on their blog as to their view of awards. So I’m only naming five, but all the awards are free for the taking.

1.)  The Farmer’s Daughter

2.) Ellie’s Place

3.) It’s All About Purple

4.) Georgette Sullins

5.) The View Out Here

WHEW! I think that’s it.  I know I probably lost a few readers several paragraphs (and awards) ago. I apologize for taking so long to acknowledge all my thoughtful blogging friends, and I’ll try to do a better job of keeping up in the future.

  1. Concatulations on your many award achievements! It sounds like Sam and I are giving you an award every few days (!!) but of course we think you deserve every single one of them – so when WE get one – we always think of you first…. :D It is hard work keeping up with the awards but it’s a lot of fun too – the only problem is keeping our heads from swelling up so much we can’t wear our hats! ;)

    Hugs, Pam and Sam

  2. Thank you so much for your kind acknowledgement. (smile) I too have been Procrastinating with a capital P, so I had better Remedy that too, with a capital R. The holiday season will be a fun time to gift some, I think. :)

  3. You are very deserving of any and all awards :)

    Cheers! MJ

  4. Congratulations Dianna! And Sundae too!!

  5. congratulations on all your lovely blog awards!

  6. And you deserve each and every one. I so enjoy reading your blog every day even though I don’t comment each day. You and Sundae are a pair. Love you!

  7. you saved all your homework up for one post. :) congrats to you.

  9. Way to go Dianna!

  10. Congratulations on ALL of these !! I, too, am a procrastinator – I can understand why you waited to do this all in one post !! Congrats again!

  11. Congrats. Love diet coke too! And I really love the way you finished the sentence about reading!

  12. Congratulations on your awards! Thank you so much for choosing me to pass them along to. I’m a quiet person most of the time myself. And a procrastinator!! I’ve slowed down on blogging lately, but hopefully after Thanksgiving, I’ll get the awards passed on!
I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

  13. Wow, Dianna! You hit the ‘mother lode’ of blog awards. Well deserved congratulations to you. You are well-loved by all of us readers. ♥

  14. You must have the most awarded blog in the blogosphere! And worth every one. Congratulations!

  15. Concatulations for all those awards and saving them up for 1 big post is kind of fun! Wes learned lots more about yous in this post! We has a tendancy to try to do our award posts once a week. Otherwise we would be posting about awards all the time (which does seem like we is)

  16. Hahahha, lets not even *talk* about “procrastinating”! Hahahaha…oh my gosh! Thank you so very much Dianna. Once we get buried under some snow around here I think I can hopefully find the time to dig out from under the neglected blog awards that have been so kindly sent my way. Congratulations to *you* many times over. Still looking forward to meeting you and JR someday!
    All my best…
    ~d.
p.s. I’m with you on everything but the Diet Coke!

  18. Please take a few pictures of your crafted cards. I’d love to see some of them.

  19. love hearing about your awards—and totally “get” the procrastination….it gets harder and harder, as so many people no longer accept them…but it is a testament to your lovely blog. love perusing your posts and photos….
