Busy And Fun….But Bloggable?

Ever since I began blogging three years ago, These Days has been an important part of my life. I’m constantly on the look-out for things to photograph and share with my readers. (Motor Man and Marshall are quick to recognize and suggest an opportunity too.)

But, recently, I’ve been struggling to think of blog topics.

Oh, our everyday lives are as happy and busy as ever.

But there just doesn’t seem to be anything happening that’s interesting enough to build a blog post around. Perhaps all bloggers hit a “dry spell” occasionally. This has always been fun, and  I just don’t want it to become a chore.

I’m still planning to continue to post daily, but if I should skip a day once in awhile, there’s no cause for alarm.

I just don’t want you to be bored when you stop by for a visit.

Happy Weekend! (Now we‘re out to find something bloggable this weekend!)

  1. YOU have a swan….in your yard!!! I find that blogable! I love your pics, posts and point of view!

  2. Hi Dianna … I think we all go through times like that. Life is busy and complicated and sometimes it is perfectly OK to step away until you feel the “pull” to come back and write again. I used to blog daily .. then every other .. now it’s as I can/feel like it. Cheers! MJ

  3. When things dry up, remember, we’re all in this together, someone has to read! We’re pullin’ for ya. 😉

  4. Thanks for the swan pics, they always cheer me up! Hope you two have a wonderful and relaxing weekend:) L/M

  5. Never bored – One of the first things I look for every morning. Thanks for sharing your life.

  6. I very much look forward to receiving your latest blog in my inbox! I use it as part of my break time in a day 🙂 and I always love the beautiful pictures that accompany them.

  7. Remember what I said a long time ago…relatively speaking? “Blogging is my fun place.” May it stay that way for you, and if you need to tend to other things, let it be so.

  8. I always enjoy your posts and pictures but I understand the dry spell and I did begin to look at getting a post up as a chore. I just keep reading my favorite blogs and commenting. I like what emjayandthem said.. 🙂

  9. Well, my friend, we all have those ‘dry spells’ and there’s nothing wrong with taking a little break. But you could never bore us, no matter what! When I first started blogging I attempted to post every day too but I just didn’t have the time to do so. Now, I have the time but I still hit those walls where I don’t have something I feel is blog-worthy, so I post when I feel like it. I totally agree with Georgette though, blogging needs to be our fun place! And part of the fun for me is reading my friends’ blogs and you’re one of my favorites!

    • Thanks, “Mama”! It’s scary to think of a time when blogging isn’t fun for us. I do treasure the many friendships I’ve made along the way!
      Have a great weekend!

  10. Each of your days are filled with fun and something to blog about. Love your life adventures.

  11. Somedays it’s just a good thing to sit back and live life. I certainly don’t paint everyday! If you don’t “live” life…you won’t have anything to write about!

  12. This is the first place I visit when I go online! If you feel you need to take a day off now and then, go to it!, but I’ll still come by and see if anything’s happening !

  13. we all do that. even if i have a stockpile of photos waiting for posts, i sometimes don’t have the imagination or inclination to put something together. normally it passes in a day or two – so i put a few posts together to pre-schedule. so when my next ‘blah’ day come, i don’t have to struggle. 🙂

  14. gosh, marshall is a good son… 🙂

“This too will pass” dear friend. You are a very talented blogger and very interesting.to read and a wonderful photographer. Every one needs a break now and then I get so much enjoyment from your blog. 🙂

  16. There is no way your blog posts will EVER be a bore. But I sure do sympathize with needing breaks between postings…. sometimes life just gets in the way. Love your swan photos though Dianna. 🙂

  17. If yous ever gets too bored, Sundae can invite mes over again…Mes knows how to liven things up!
Purrhaps mes could teach her how to samba across the dining table…

  18. Wow, I continue to be amazed that there are swans (and wild horses and other amazing things) where you live. The ordinary to one person can be the extraordinary to someone in a different locale. That said, don’t feel bad if you miss a day–we understand. Blogging should be fun, not a burden.

  19. You got some great photos of the Bride. You know we’ll be here whenever you post.

  20. Never fear, I always enjoy the photos! You tell a story with your images as much as with words.

I know what you mean about feeling dry. Sometimes I have too much life going on to give time to blogging! But I enjoy the challenge and the exchange that occurs in the digital world with other bloggers. ~ Sheila

  21. Bride swan is never dull. But I know what you mean. Sometimes we have to get busy with the living of life and there’s less to blog about, or less time to do a post justice. And if we choose to blog for pleasure, then it certainly should never become a chore. We put way too much pressure on ourselves at times.
