Vintage? Yes, Please

Through the Facebook page “Only In Virginia”, I learned about Old Luckett’s  Store near Leesburg, Va.

And that was a day trip yesterday for Motor Man and me.

If you’re into vintage,  that’s the place for you.  The outside area is full of old architectural elements and furniture, as well as vehicles that I’m guessing are for display only.

Check out this VW Beetle, all decked out for Christmas.

And the ‘driver’, just hangin’ out:

An old Studebaker with Christmas gifts stacked on top:

A horse and Amish wagon:

Just imagine the stories these old wooden doors could tell:

“Vintage” as far as the eye can see.

Clever bicycle wreaths:

At one point, Motor Man was in a different area of the yard than I was. I noticed he was talking with another couple and taking a picture of them. I hurried over, so THEY could take a picture of US by this gorgeous old carriage.

The four of us hit it off immediately, and since it was windy and cold outside, we invited them to sit in our vehicle so we could chat.

It was a beautiful day for a drive, we enjoyed seeing all the ‘vintageness’ at Luckett’s Store and we made some new friends.

We think that makes for a nice day.

  1. WOW!!! The vintageness is wonderful. I’m especially fond of those doors. It looks like a wonderful day trip was had.

  2. WOW – what fun. That place sure looks a lot more interesting in person than it did on their website – bigger and a whole lot more fun stuff to see and enjoy. The “plus” was running into a couple you clicked with and hopefully will see again. You never know when you’re out and about what adventures you will have!
