Windowpane Wednesday: Bed And Breakfast

The squirrels continue to enjoy our bird feeders just as much, if not more, than the birds.

I must say that they are entertaining.

A few days ago, Motor Man and I watched as this little guy (girl) relaxed while enjoying breakfast.

Gives a whole new meaning to the phrase “bed and breakfast”.

  1. That;s just adorable. I’m sure they get tired of hanging on in all kinds of “circus performer” positions to get the seeds and this one figured out he can RELAX and enjoy his snack without “hanging around” !! Great shot.

  2. I agree – they are quite the ‘circus performers’ as they hang upside down. Found the best Christmas ornament one year of a squirrel enjoying its meal on a birdfeeder. It’s definitely a love/hate relationship with the squirrels.

  3. The squirrels would be quite surprised to hear that the seed was not put out for them.
In Richmond I had chipmunks that got in my “cage” lined feeders (to protect from squirrels) and eat and nap all day. I used to joke they were eating bonbon’s all day
    Cute post@

  4. We’re fortunate that squirrels can’t visit our feeders, but the birds have been plentiful. And for the first time in 20 years of living in this house, deer are eating the leaves off our azalea bushes near the bird feeders. We think they’re drawn to the bird seed and then realize all they’re finding are empty sunflower seed shells, so instead they feast on the nearby leaves. Ack!

  5. Such a cool shot ! – I’ve never seen one do this before …

I never stop being amazed by our furry friends! Your title is perfect. ❤

  7. That is adorable. Let’s face it— bird feeders are for the squirrels. 😊

  8. Looks like ours too! 😅 They love the sunflower seeds and good stuff.
