We’ve learned quite a bit about our little “Sundae girl” in the month since she adopted us we adopted her.
We immediately learned that she’s a politician. When I met Sundae at the Humane Society, the volunteer took her from her cage and placed her in my lap. Sundae made herself comfortable and purred like one of Motor Man’s race engines. Once I brought her home, however, she decided that she’s not really a lap kitty after all. Obviously during my visit to the shelter, she was simply campaigning for a new home. And we all know how those campaign promises go.
We’ve learned that Sundae has a drinking problem. You see, she drinks from sources other than her water bowl. Which, by the way, I keep clean and filled with fresh water. But she prefers a different type bowl.
Or hot bath water.
We’ve also learned that Sundae is a talker. She talks all the time. And she only speaks “cat”. And since we aren’t proficient in “cat”, there’s definitely a language barrier. But I guess most cat owners have attempted at one time or another to decipher what a cat is trying to say.
And last but not least, we’ve learned that Sundae is a little criminal. Guilty of grand larceny. You see, in spite of broken promises, her drinking problem and the language barrier, she’s stolen our hearts.

Thanks for stopping over at my blog. Had to visit. Well, your post stole my heart. I have always wanted a calico cat as long as I can remember. Got one and she was possessed! Truthfully! we found her the right home. we still have our grandson’s Bengal..he weighs 20 lbs and is a sweetie!
Hi, Berte! Thanks for the visit and comment. I’m hoping Sundae isn’t possessed, but sometimes I wonder…?
Great post, and great kitty… even with the drinking problem (hot bath water ??) And I was wondering if a “month of sundaes” post would show up!!!
It doesn’t take long for a Sundae to steal your heart!! She and BJ have a few things in common. A fondness for those “porcelain bowls” and the balcony overlooking your bedroom AND talkiness. (Is that a word?) But Sundae has yet to run down the hall WALL. LOL!!
This post was so funny, charming and endearing! I have to confess…she has stolen my heart too. I just think kitties are the best! Have you ever read the book Dewey the Library Cat? If not, you might want to. I just LOVED that book!
the shot of her head in the toilet made me LOL!!! i LOVED this post! drinking problem, broken campaign promises, grand larceny! PERFECTION!
Are the “changes” in your household what you expected? Are you sure she was born here in the US? She might be a Democrat!
Just like having a 2 year old in the house. Oh, no!
I can see why she has stolen your hearts. She is such a pretty kitty. I love those calico cats. She’s just independent and expressing herself. You can’t fault a girl for that.
You make it harder and harder to not go out to the humane society and pick out a kitty! I wish Nacho liked cats or I would be bringing one home this week! I have to go see my sister almost everyday to just get my cat fix. Well, that is my excuse, anyway 🙂
Grand larceny… love it!
Hot water? Are you kidding me? Never heard of that. That beautiful Sundae cat looks like she’s got an awesome view out that window there.
p.s. loving those different marked arms on her!
Little critters have such a way of stealing our hearts. Great photos of her!
My Jasper had a watering hole like that too. lol I have a calico cat but she lives outdoors; I can’t hold her but she loves to be petted.
She is a sweetheart and she know who run your household.
