Today, Memorial Day, we remember those in our military who lost their lives while serving our country.
As I mentioned in a blog post a couple of weeks ago, I was asked to speak at this year’s annual Memorial Day Service held at the little cemetery in my hometown.
Although it was a huge honor, I felt immensely under-qualified. But Motor Man, Marshall and many of my friends encouraged me.
To prepare for that day, I did quite a bit of research about the background of the holiday. And I mentioned to Motor Man just last night that I believe Memorial Day has a deeper meaning for me this year because of what I learned.
After the service, I discovered that my Motor Man had discreetly videoed the program.
I debated whether or not to share the link to the video here today on my blog. The microphone presented me with some issues at the beginning (my inexperience), but thankfully, that resolved itself fairly quickly.
So here’s the link to that speech:
And today, may we all keep in mind the real reason for the holiday.
