(First) Class
Just look at that elegance, style and class,
who could have known it wouldn’t last?
Men in ties, LADIES in heels;
that era just had a different feel.
There was kindness in all that was done,
from a somber event to one that was fun.
Pride in one’s appearance every time you went out;
and you had respect for others, there was no doubt.
Guess I’m old fashioned and over the hill,
but I tend to wish it were that way still.
(Well, until it came to walking through an airport in heels….)
