WindowpaneWednesday: Mommy Deer

A few days ago, I glanced out our kitchen window and saw a young deer walking along our yard.

Although I snapped pictures from inside our garage door and didn’t make a sound, she knew I was watching her.

She stopped for a drink from the birdbath:

And as she walked away, I realized that she’s a nursing mommy.

Maybe soon she’ll bring her little one(s) by for a visit.

  1. I love seeing the “little ones” – Fawns with their spots are darling and when I see one or more than one with no Mom around, I worry…..MOST of the time Mom is hiding in the woods watching, but sometimes the little ones just scamper away on their own, and I think to myself “God be with you little ones”……………

How wonderful she feels safe in your yard. Hope you do see the young ones.

  5. There’s that love/hate relationship again. I LOVE seeing the deer, but they push my buttons when they my veggies and flowers. She knows she’s safe – she’ll be back:)
