Those of you who are regular readers of my blog know that each week, I participate in Poetic Thursday, hosted by Pam, Teddy & Angel Sammy at Two Spoiled Cats. Pam and her kitties give us a photo every Thursday to use as inspiration for the next week’s poem.
And this week, they have given us a photo with some mystery surrounding it.
Here’s my poem:
It’s A Mystery
This picture makes us qustion why:
why is that little girl about to cry?
Why are two pictures made into one?
Why are these kids not having fun?
Why is one cake big, and the other small?
None of this makes sense at all.

I don’t have the answer to your mystery – that you explored wonderfully in your poem, but the picture sure took me back pictures of my 5th birthday party. Look at that dress and those suits!!!!
I agree – it didn’t make sense when I found the photo – I thought it would really allow us all to let our imaginations fly. I’ve read some great poems this morning so I guess it worked in spite of being rather “strange” !! Thanks for joining in the fun!

Maybe her family made her a little cake of her own because it was here brother’s birthday. She’s jealous because it’s not her birthday and he has the big cake !)
That’s for sure! I’m stumped.
It is odd … maybe it had something to do with blowing out the candles ? that seems to be a hot button topic with some kids !
