Last summer, I purchased a Texas Star Hibiscus from one of the regular vendors at our local farmers market. It was probably about two feet tall at the time.
I planted it just outside our bedroom window and have done absolutely nothing to it: no water, no fertilizer, nothing.

It’s now over 8 feet tall now, and has had at least 50 blooms over the past few weeks. And there are still more buds left to open.

I cut one of the blooms earlier this summer and placed it in a vase. It’s such an amazing bloom with the green in the center of the red petals.

And a picture of my hand beside it for size reference.

I’ve given a couple of these plants as birthday gifts this summer and I’m hoping the recipients will enjoy them as much as we are enjoying ours.

WOW!!! That is one amazing plant and flower. I love it! Do the blooms last long once cut and brought in? And the size – you know they do everything bigger in Texas. Seems like that extends to plants with its namesake.
beautiful!
Spectacular! Well, they do say things are big from Texas! Our son and daughter-in-law have a plant called Queen of the Night. It blooms once a year and only at night. The next morning the bloom will be dead. Son has had a camera on a tripod facing it waiting to catch it blooming in time lapse video. We were hoping it would bloom while we visited, but it waited until we came home. He just sent us the video yesterday. So amazing just like your Texas hibiscus!
Gorgeous! It’s wonderful that there are some plants we can enjoy outside (and in) that seems to be happy without a lot of “coddling” and attention. That one is more than stunning!
