It’s hard to believe, but this is the last Thursday in September. As usual, it’s poetry day here on These Days. Each week, my friend, Pam and her kitties, Teddy and Angel Sammy, host Poetic Thursday on their blog at Two Spoiled Cats.
This is the photo they gave us for today’s inspiration:

And here’s my poem:
Yucky
No matter how long I sit and stare,
these yucky vegetables go nowhere.
I’ve pushed them ‘round and ‘round on my plate;
why do I have to eat something I hate?
“Mom, I can’t eat this: my tummy hurts!”
“Well, then, you might not want dessert.”
Guess I’ll try ‘em, Mom will be surprised,
but I’m gonna hold my nose and pretend they’re fries.
~These Days Of Mine~

Good luck with that, little dude !
Love the poem and I am SURE more than one kid has held their nose to get through the yuck of veggies. My brother was a veggie-hater but I LOVED them (except my Mom says I refused to eat a pea on my plate if it was squished…..) 🙂 🙂

My thoughts exactly about those veggies 60 years ago. Now they’re favorites of mine.
