Happy Thursday, Happy Thanksgiving and Happy poetry day here at These Days.
As usual, we’re joining Pam, Teddy and Angel Sammy at Two Spoiled Cats for Poetic Thursday.
Here’s the (interesting) photo they gave us for today’s inspiration:

And this is my poem with a little twist on being thankful:
Be Thankful
For many years, it’s been out back in that spot;
an outdoor cousin to the chamber pot.
It was a long walk in order to ‘go’,
and seemed even longer in rain or snow.
No longer needed, but we see no harm
in leaving it there just for its charm.
We’re glad it’s not in use any more,
but we still think it’s fun to decorate the door.
And something else to be thankful for, y’all:
that modern bathroom just steps down the hall.
~These Days Of Mine~

Great job!! I know it seems like a weird photo for Thanksgiving but maybe it’s balanced out by hoping it brought a smile to people on this day of thanks when memories of all kinds come to mind and families gather for food and fun. Thanks for joining in! Happy Thanksgiving………..
Pam
yes- and to you and yours
Perspective sure makes us appreciative, doesn’t it? I sure do appreciate many modern conveniences, but none probably no more than indoor plumbing. Happy Thanksgiving.
I was thinking “at least you can switch it up for the seasons !
As one who can remember that kind of outbuilding at my grandparents and also at my parents’ camp in the mountains, I’m thankful we don’t have to use one now!
