This photo came up in my Facebook memories a few days ago. It had been shared on Facebook several years ago by my late sister, June.

The little girl is me, and that’s my mom holding my niece, Lita, who looks to be about two. That would make me seven.
The tank car we’re standing in front of belonged to my sister, Rose (Lita’s mom). (Check out those tiny rear view mirrors.) I don’t remember that car specifically, but when June posted the photo, I asked her whose it was, and she replied.
Even though I don’t remember this particular picture, nor when it was taken, it does bring back lots of memories. Lita was the little sister I never had, and we spent many hours playing together. My nieces and nephews were all like younger siblings to me, and we were so close in age, I certainly never felt like their aunt.
It’s always nice to add another vintage family photo to the collection. It brought a smile and so many memories.

Tank was the appropriate descriptor, We had one too – just a different model. They were heavy – and fast – cars. Love seeing your vintage photo. Oh, that means we’re vintage now, doesn’t it? 🙂
I love love love old photos – I have an album for each of my parents of THEIR photos that I organized after they passed away. I look through them often and while I have no idea who most of the people in them are, I see a YOUNG Mom and a YOUNG Dad and wonder what life was like for them then – from what little I know it was not good in any way. I think it must have been wonderful for you to grow up with lots of cousins to play with and visit – in my mind THAT is what family is……an extension of our heart.

Another great photo !
” Tank ” … ; )
I too love old family pictures. They sometimes bring back wonderful memories.
Those old photos are so special. What’s really neat is when someone gives me one that I’ve never seen before.
