I thought my readers might like a little update on the Mama Duck/ducklings situation.
Last week, I posted that Mama had originally arrived with seven babies about ten days ago, but by last Wednesday, she was down to four.
And now, she has three. She continues to bring them to visit, and they are allowed in our garage where they dine on cracked corn and have their own little flowerpot saucer swimming pool/water dish.
Last night, after they’d gone back outside, I happened to walk by and catch this cute picture of the little ones having a nap.

I’m sure Mommy needed a little rest, too. She’s always on guard with those little ones.
My friend, Donna, said she’d like to see a video of the ducklings coming when they see me in the yard. This footage is a little rough: it’s hard to focus and walk through the yard at the same time. (Volume up, because, yes, I talk baby-talk to the littles.)
Here’s hoping Mommy can help these three babies continue to survive.

I’d be talking baby talk too – I do that with Teddy – David calls it my “Mom voice” ! They sure are cute and I hope Mom Duck can keep those three safe so they can grow up and enjoy the water and your yard (and your corn!).
Pam
she’s doing her best .. and you’re helping ; ) it’s not easy for the little ones ..
Your video is precious. We all wish all of them would life. ππ€π
That video is adorable! And I love how you baby talk to the babies!
How did you do that? GREAT footage! They sure know the 2nd hand that feeds them. So cute. Hope Momma Duck can keep these last 3.
