Poetic Thursday: If Marshall Were A Redhead

Thursday again, poetry time again. As usual, we’re joining our friend, Pam, and her kitties, Teddy and Angel Sammy, at Two Spoiled Cats.  Each Thursday, they host Poetic Thursday, and last week they gave us this photo for our inspiration:

Here’s my poem:

If Marshall Were A Redhead

Look at that carrot-top there in my sink,
you’re probably wondering what I think.

I think these days go by too fast;
there should be a way to make them last.

 Scattered toys on the floor, hand prints on the wall:
those little things shouldn’t matter at all.

What matters is that ‘I-love-you-mom’ grin,
that little look that ‘reels me in’.

The years will fly, and he will grow,
but one thing’s for certain, this I know:

Our bond has strengthened as we’ve aged,
it’s the same book, just a different page.
