Windowpane Wednesday: The Winter “Blues”

No, I don’t have the wintertime  blues.  But I am enjoying seeing the bluebirds outside our bedroom windows.

I haven’t been very diligent about being sure their meal worm feeders are filled recently.

But, when I do go out and fill them, it isn’t long until one of these beauties appears for a feeding.

They seem to be fat and happy, so I think the meal worms we’re providing may just be a treat and not their main sustenance.

For many years, I thought that bluebirds migrated south in the winter, so I was delighted to learn that they are here year-round. It’s always fun to see that flash of blue.

  1. We’re seeing more bluebirds this year than ever before – and now that it’s really COLD and other food sources are drying up – I think they return to us because we ALWAYS have full feeders! YAY!

  3. Bluebirds are close to my favorites. I always think of the phrase “Bluebird of happiness” – and they make me smile. Your pictures are GREAT!
