As I was looking back over photos to decide what memory to share today, I realized that ten years ago this week, we went for a sleigh ride in Oakland, Maryland, in the western part of the state.
(If these pics look familiar to my long-time readers, it’s because I’ve shared them before. But the ten-year anniversary of the trip seems like a good time for a rerun.)
It was one of the coldest sleigh rides we’ve ever been on; the temp was around twelve degrees, and it was snowing during our ride. This was the farm where the ride took place.

And, although we almost froze, it was an amazing time.

Cuddled up to try to stay warm:

Our driver was Eli, and the horse was named Rusty. At one point, Eli stopped to take photos, and asked if I’d like to sit on Rusty. I practically jumped at the chance, but then asked: “How am I going to get up there?” (Rusty was HUGE.) A ‘leg-up’ from Eli was all it took.

When you look at this next picture, it’s easy to guess which one of us was thrilled, and which one was a good sport (as usual). Did I mention how cold it was?

This was part of our celebrating our upcoming thirteenth wedding anniversary (2015). Thanks, Motor Man, for enduring the cold for me. It’s definitely given us something to talk about all these years.

Ten years ago – hard to believe, It seems like yesterday. If you had to be out in that cold temps, you sure had an amazing experience. Thanks for sharing again. It was fun to see.
I do remember this one … & I can almost feel the cold through the pics !
I know how you love your sleigh rides……and Rusty sure was a gorgeous horse – I wonder if he’s still pulling sleighs in his spare time? It does look VERY cold – for Rusty AND all of you!
