Poetic Thursday: Why?

Before I share today’s post, I just want to say that our thoughts and prayers are with all of those affected by the tragic plane/helicopter crash just a few hours’ north of us in Washington, D.C.  It’s heartbreaking to imagine the pain so many are experiencing this morning.

We’re closing out the month of January with a poem for this Thursday.  Our hosts, Pam, Teddy and Angel Sammy, at Two Spoiled Cats, gave us this picture for our inspiration for today’s poem:

And here’s mine:

Why?

Sometimes, we all breathe a collective sigh;
and contemplate the question: “why”.

We can only hope at the end of the day,
that guy was able to just walk away.

He couldn’t see the curl of that horse’s lip,
as it pondered the power of one little slip.

  1. First off, yes, what an awful tragedy and our thoughts and prayers are for those who lost their loved ones. In regards to that photo, I have to agree! Why? Seems pretty ridiculous to me. But your poem was spot on.

  2. So many questions about that accident……

    & yes, this photo made me very uneasy … !

  3. Well done! Yep – it wouldn’t take a whole lot for this trick to go awry and change the life of that crazy guy (hey – I made a poem out of that!).

  4. WHY indeed???? Looks like it belongs AFV!
