Purrhaps we should just designate Monday as “Coco Day” here on the blog.
But she has impawtent news she’d like to share with you today. She has discovered (with Motor Mommy’s help): CAT TV.
If you aren’t familiar, there are many videos available online for your feline friends to watch. I’d tried them with our former kitty, Sundae, and also our shop kitty, Gypsy, but neither of them were interested. Most of these videos feature birds or squirrels, but Coco’s favorite is one that stars….(eeek) rats. Rats with long tails.
Coco hasn’t really been a lap kitty since we adopted her just before Christmas, but after I picked her up and put her in my lap ONE TIME to watch these videos, she is hooked.
She’ll come sit by my chair and quietly meow to let me know she’s ready to watch her video. A couple of times, it wasn’t convenient for me to watch CAT TV with her, so I gave up my chair to her.
I must admit that I feel the guilt of a mother plopping her toddler in front of the tv to let the cartoons babysit.
I didn’t include the audio with this, because there was some distracting background noise. But it the sound is similar to birds chirping, which definitely gets her attention. I think it’s cute toward the end of the video, when she puts her paw on the keyboard and freezes the video. She looks at me as if to say: “Mommy, fix it!”.
I think we’re going to dig an old tablet out of storage and designate it as Coco’s very own computer.
Spoiled? Not much.
