Sunset’s Golden Hour

Early in the evening yesterday, Motor Man glanced out of the window and shouted: “Sunset! Sunset!”.  It had been overcast for much of the day, so we’d given up on any chance of seeing the Strawberry Moon.

But we could tell from the outside glow that we had a sunset.

Golden hour can even make Canada geese pretty (especially when they’re in the water and not in our yard).

Note to self: please remember to move that piece of driftwood from beside the butterfly chair. It’s rather distracting in its current location.

Were you able to see the Strawberry Moon or did the clouds hide it in your area, too?

  1. You may not have seen a Strawberry moon, but the reflection of the sunset on the geese almost has a ‘strawberry’ tint ….. !

& – on the upside – that driftwood could almost look like a small branch the butterfly is resting on for a moment ??

  2. We have dense tree cover from the gigantic trees all around our yard so rarely see the moon unless we walk down our driveway into the street OR take a drive somewhere. So we didn’t see it but have seen lots of photos this morning on Facebook – glad everyone who saw it enjoyed the beauty!

  3. Oh, look at how the sun shines right through the butterfly chair’s body! Perfectly aligned and perfectly beautiful.
