As those of you who know me best are aware, one of my favorite pastimes is antiquing/junqueing/thrifting. Motor Man is an ‘enabler’ in that respect, and is always ready to drive me to another adventure.
Last weekend, we traveled to a little shop in a tiny town (map dot) in North Carolina, just beyond the Virginia line. This was in their garden section:

The tag said “oil lamp holder”. It was reasonably priced, so it came home with us.
Any guesses? And a hint: it isn’t an oil lamp holder.
Google Lens lead me to what its actual purpose was, as well as some eye-opening prices on a couple of web sites.

Yes, that’s a tea kettle holder…who even knew there was such a thing? And let’s just say that I paid NOWHERE NEAR $465 for it. I did some research on the history of tea kettle holders, but didn’t have much success.
But this beauty now has a spot inside my little ‘she shed’ that Motor Man built for our yard out of old doors a couple of years ago. I already had the little copper kettle.

The space where I put the tiny pot of ‘moss’ was actually used for the copper burner. And if I ever run across one of those, I’ll have a place for it.
Oh, and there’s one of these stands on another site, complete with a copper tea kettle AND the burner, and that’s priced at over $1,000.00
Yep, I do believe my $40 was well spent.

Well I think your $40 was definitely well spent – not only is it a cute addition to your she shed, it’s really interesting – and something really “different” to add to your growing collection of fun outdoor decorations. Good job!
