Monday Morning Mews: What Really Happened?

Happy Monday, readers. Coco, here with a rather lengthy post.

First, allow me to remind you that my most favorite spot these days is in the loft in my pawrents’ bedroom. You can’t see it in this picture, but Motor Mommy placed a kitty bed just on the INSIDE of the railing, and that’s where I spend most of my time.

And let me give you a little background: my pawrents’ bedroom is HUGE, and it’s where they spend most of THEIR time.  They have a tv in there, as well as Motor Mommy’s desk and computer, and they each have a recliner.

This event took place last Friday evening. I’ll let Motor Mommy give you her viewpoint first, followed by Motor Man’s, and finally, mine.

Motor Mommy: “I was in the kitchen, preparing dinner, when I heard Motor Man YELLING. I couldn’t tell what was wrong, and I actually wondered if he were having a heart attack. As I was running down the hall, I heard him saying: “NO, NO, NO!!”.  So then it crossed my mind that perhaps Coco was attacking him. When I got to our bedroom, he said that Coco had fallen from the ledge and tried to grab onto the top of the door with her front paws.  He went running over to help her, but before he got there, she fell to the floor. She then ran back up the steps to the loft.  By the time I got to the bedroom, my legs were too weak from fear to even climb the steps to check on her. I had to sit down for a few minutes to get myself together.”

Motor Man: That’s pretty much what happened. And it happened so quickly, I don’t know if Coco fell or if she tried to jump from the loft to the top of the door and missed her mark.  I was worried that she was hurt and wish I could have gotten to her before she lost her grip on the top of the door.

Coco:  I’m just fine, thank you, and I do appreciate Motor Man trying to help me, and the two of them being so concerned for me. We’re sharing this picture, so you can see where this all took place.

As for what really happened, let’s just say that, regarding this incident, ‘the cat has my tongue’.  Readers, what do YOU think ??

(And P.S., today is the 9 month anniversary of me adopting my pawrents!)

  1. Well Coco, I can testify that we cats are a lot more flexible, know how to do a fall without hurting ourselves (most of the time!), and can’t resist exploring ANYWHERE/ANYTIME! We must try to remember though to do our exploring/high wire acts when our humans aren’t around – they worry – a lot! Now try to stay Earth-bound more so you don’t give them a fright again. OK?

  2. You need to start letting them know you’ll be practicing gymnastics ..

  3. “All’s well that ends well.”

  4. Oh My Goodness!!! What an adventure. Glad you weren’t hurt, but maybe don’t scare you pawrents like that again.
