A New Year’s Day Birthday

Happy New Year, everyone.  Today is also my Motor Man’s birthday. So rather than participate in Poetic Thursday (sorry, Pam), I thought I’d reshare this ‘poem’ that I wrote for him a few years ago. If you’re a faithful, long time reader of the blog, you will remember probably it:

You are the jets to my carburetor.
You are the degree to my cam.
You are the octane to my fuel.
You are the lash to my valve.
You are the spark to my plug.
You are the fire to my piston.
You are the gray area to my rules.
You are the viscosity to my oil.
You are the timing to my chain.
You are the green flag to my race.
You are the rev to my engine.

I must admit that, when I originally wrote that, I did have to check with him on some of those details.  But it was fun to write and is still so true.

Happy Birthday, Motor Man!
