On Thursdays, we join our friend, Pam, and her kitties, Teddy and Angel Sammy, at Two Spoiled Cats for Poetic Thursday.
This is the photo they gave us for our inspiration:

I really didn’t have any ideas for my poem this week, until yesterday, when my friend, Bev, and I met for lunch. The salads we ordered weren’t quite as large as the one in the picture, but it gave me direction for my poem.
And here it is:
Lunch With Bev
It was time for lunch with a long time friend;
we weren’t really sure how long it had been.
But, then, I couldn’t believe my eyes:
“Did I really order a salad this size?”
“Yes, you did,” Bev said with a sigh.
“And, apparently, so did I.”
The salads were yummy, but in the end,
what mattered most was time with a friend.
❤️These Days Of Mine❤️

great take on this photo, and you are so right, the time was the best part
Indeed……and it’s easy to get the “leftovers” to go for a salad at home! Nice that you and Bev had a “catch up” lunch.
Hugs, Pam
thats a great poem – especially considering what you were given to work with … good you were able to pull real life into it too !
Perfect poem. Our mom had dinner with a friend on Monday, and it had nothing to do with the food but the time spent together. XOCK, angels Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid & Sawyer, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy, Kizmet, Audrey, Raleigh, Gibbs & Tali
