Treasure Hunting – In Blue

Motor Man and I seem to pack a lot into a weekend. Not only did we go to a race last weekend, AND visit Mt. Airy, we also stopped at some antique shops along the way.  Well, Motor Man stopped: I sHopped.

One of my favorite shops is Grandfather’s Country Creations in Clarksville.  They sell primitive country decor, as well as wreaths, silk flowers, floral arrangements, AND antiques. I found this beautiful old blue enamel pitcher.  It was reasonably priced “as is”, because there’s a hole in the bottom. Shhh, don’t tell anyone, and they’ll never know. I think it looks right at home in our half bath, just waiting for a few sprigs of country berries to dress it up a little.

Another favorite shop is Toots Creek Antiques in South Boston. I don’t get there often, since it’s over three hours from home, but I don’t recall ever leaving empty-handed.  Among the goodies I found this time was this rustic old bench, still wearing a little blue paint. It will be perfect in a flower bed, sporting a plant potted in an old tea kettle or enamel pan.

Isn’t it obvious from last week’s found treasures that I’m drawn to all old things blue?
