You may recall from earlier posts that Motor Man is quite the prankster. He loves nothing more than getting something over on some poor unsuspecting soul. And I’m not exempt from his tricks.
But he doesn’t have a blog. And I do. So now it’s my turn.
A couple of days ago, we went to Cracker Barrel for dinner. I normally keep a lightweight jacket in the car, because air conditioning at restaurants seems to work better than anywhere else. But this particular night, I didn’t have one with me.
So after we ordered our meals, I told Motor Man that I was going to do some shopping in the store section of Cracker Barrel. I left our table wearing this:
I found a hoodie, bought it, had the clerk cut off the tags, and put it on over my other top. And I returned, wearing this:
And Motor Man never noticed. (I had him take these pictures when we got home, but didn’t tell him why. Surprise, honey!)
Now, I will say this in his defense: he has been working really hard this week. And I was sitting beside him in the restaurant. Had I been sitting across the table from him, he probably would have realized something had changed.
And besides, I know he loves me. It doesn’t matter that he didn’t notice I was wearing something different.
It’s blogging material. And I get payback. It’s a win-win situation.

But, darling, it’s only payback IF he knows about it!! When are you going to tell him? As many times as he’s “caught me”, he really deserves it.
But it does prove he loves you and NOT what you’re wearing!
But, darling, he reads my blog everyday!! It’s required….! And even if he didn’t, some of our friends would tell him….
I love it! You go, girl.
ha ha. just rubbing his nose in it while the world watches. 🙂
Tricky, tricky .. Turnabout’s fair play, and you *could* say that he “had it coming!” And Cracker Barrel’s the perfect place: not many restaurants sell clothes!
My husband is a prankster too and is more of a ‘big picture’ kinda guy who often misses little details so not sure if he’d have noticed either!
I always freeze in restaurants. You’d think that I would have learned my lesson by now to always keep a jacket or sweater with me!
Funny! Great how you happened to select a solid colored one too…quite different from the patterned top you had on and still he didn’t notice. 😉 Well, I have to say, sitting beside my husband or not he probably wouldn’t have noticed either! So do you guys keep score? 😉
I think it’s a man thing. But then I didn’t notice Bill had shaved his goatee for a week!
I’m not sure he would have noticed if he were sitting across from you, but you are generous to give him the benefit of the doubt. Too funny!
What part of “we’re blinded by your beauty” do you not understand?
Cute story, Dianna. I love that about Cracker Barrel, eating and shopping all in one place.
