A Dog And Its Horses

You most likely could tell from my previous photos of the Carova area of the Outer Banks of North Carolina that the wild horses roam free there. Some property owners erect fences, but unless they’re tall enough, the horses just jump over them.  Other folks put up ropes at their driveways or carports, but if the rope is too low, the horses step over it. If it’s too high, the horses do the “limbo” under it.

But on a recent trip, we saw something we hadn’t seen in that area before: two horses in a yard, and apparently, the property owner’s dog paying them a visit.

Of course, we have no way of knowing if this is their first meeting or not. Either they’re curious about each other, or saying “hello again”.

Yes, little pooch, we know the 50-foot ordinance, and we’re not going to get close to your horses.

Dog: “Well, in that case, I’ll just move along.  See ya later, my horse friends.”

Horse: “Later, dude”.
