Another Thursday has rolled around, and it’s time for some poetry. We’re joining our friend, Pam, and her kitties, Teddy and Angel Sammy, at Two Spoiled Cats for Poetic Thursday.
This is the photo they provided us with last week for our inspiration:

And here’s my poem:
Dad In Charge
Mom came home to find this mess;
Dad was in charge for an hour or less.
When he looked at his girls, all he could say
was: “How did this happen? I was five feet away!”.
But he was watching tv and takes the blame
for being a little too engrossed in the game.
Today’s tough lesson at parenting school:
learning the ‘when they’re too quiet’ rule.
Dad was a quick study and all he can think
is how thankful he is for washable ink.
~These Days Of Mine~

My first thought – is it washable? So, so CUTE and so, so TRUE! I LOVE the innocence of little ones. And look how proud the artist is! Again – thanks for the SMILE!
yes, the too quiet rule rarely fails us
HA! PERFECT poem! Yes indeed – dangerous to leave Dad in charge when there’s a game on…..(or a race!). It was a fun photo for a poem.
Pam
Oh my. Dads have to learn their lesson of “when it’s too quiet” the hard way. Your poem is perfect!
Uh oh!!! Great poem!!
Wow! that picture is just too much for words. lol
Wonderful poem with a good lesson in it.
Well, someone in this picture sure is proud … !
