Windowpane Wednesday: Wrens

A couple of days ago, I spotted these two cute little wrens in our bluebird feeder.

Although bluebirds are, most likely, my favorite birds, those wrens are adorable.

(The zip tie is holding the feeder tight against the shepherd’s hook to prevent the squirrels and larger birds from tipping it to spill the meal worms out of the container. Note to self: next time, use a black one.

We occasionally see a sparrow in the feeder, so bluebirds, wrens and sparrows are welcome. Larger birds, please use the regular bird feeder. And squirrels, well, at least you’re entertaining.

  1. The birds are building nests everywhere around us up in the trees and going through the bird food in the feeder like crazy – of course they have help from all manner of other animals there (deer, squirrels) but we love watching all the wildlife.  Wrens are adorable – I think we’re seeing more bluebirds than wrens at this point but the “population” out there changes from week to week!
