It’s Thursday again and time for poetry with our friend, Pam. Each week, she and her kitties, Teddy and Angel Sammy, give us a photo for inspiration for the next Thursday’s poem. They blog over at Two Spoiled Cats; if you’re not familiar, you should pay them a visit!
This is today’s photo:

And here’s my poem:
The Girls In The Band
The girls in the band,
are always in demand.
They keep the beat, they’re always rocking
in their orthopedic shoes and cotton stockings.
Arthritis, rheumatism and Ethel’s gout:
there’s always some ailment to talk about.
But they’re on the road, medications in hand.
They’ve gotta keep going: the girls in the band.
~These Days Of Mine~

Loved your poem. Looks like the “girls” played two venues this particular night, as Ethel was (though I’d no idea the poor old gal had gout) was working the crowd at our place too! Well done.
Ann and JUNE
They look like pros ! I wonder if they’re on tour ?!
That was a wonderful poem. The more we oldsters do, the longer we can keep doing it. XOCK, angels Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta & Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy, Sawyer, Kizmet, Audrey & Raleigh
I LOVE the picture and your treatment of it in your poem. You gotta love the ‘rockers’ no matter their age. I’ll bet they are always in demand!!!!
Such a sweet and cute poem for the photo this week! Thanks so much for playing along with us – we love all the poems people write every single week…….next week’s might be a little CHALLENGING!
