Happy Thursday, and welcome to poetry here on the blog. Our friend, Pam, and her kitties, Teddy and Angel Sammy, at Two Spoiled Cats, host Poetic Thursday each week. We think it’s fun to participate (or as Gypsy and Coco would say: “pawticipate”). This is the photo they gave us for our inspiration:

Making Memories
They’re making memories they both will keep,
but I don’t think Granddad is really asleep.
He knows it’s fun to just pretend,
that one day, these play dates will come to an end.
She’s growing quickly, Pops, so don’t you dare blink,
and let’s all hope that’s not permanent ink*.
* and that’s what happens when you glance at the picture and write the poem without looking back at it. Poetic license, because that’s obviously not ink!
~These Days Of Mine~
these days of mine 
so sweet and cute
Well some of it is lipstick yes but some of it probably (!) is from markers and “Pops” will feel a bit different about THAT artwork. No matter what though this will become the subject of conversation for YEARS to come…..with a smile of course! Good job on poetry today….it was a fun one.

Oh how sweet – your poem too! It reminded me of my girls painting their Dad’s toenails when he was napping when we were on vacation at Fairy Stone State Park one year. What fun!!!
