Monday Morning Mews: Sweet Gypsy Update

Happy September and Happy Labor Day, everyone. “Motor Mommy” here, writing today’s blog post.

Most of you are probably aware that our office kitty, Gypsy, had surgery a couple of weeks ago. The week before, our vet had found a mass inside her mouth in the jaw area. During the surgery, they also removed three teeth, and a biopsy was done.

Last week, the vet called to say that the biopsy showed a carcinoma.  Not the news we were hoping for, but we had prepared ourselves for this.  The vet did say that this could become aggressive rather quickly, but for now, we should just give her whatever she wants to eat and spoil her however we can.

In the meantime, sweet Gypsy is eating like a little horse, so she’s enjoying her food and lots of treats (doctor’s orders). She’s perkier than she has been in weeks. And, thankfully, she is unaware of the situation.

As her health declines, we will, of course, spare her any discomfort, and with the vet, help her cross over Rainbow Bridge when that becomes necessary. And we hope that won’t be anytime soon.

And til then….sweet Gypsy is being spoiled every chance we get……

….including all the time she wants lying in my office chair on one of my fleece sweatshirts.  I don’t mind sitting elsewhere.

  1. oh sweet Gypsy. I had hoped for different results. Spoil her all you can. ❤️

  2. Well my friend you know how I feel about this since we’ve talked about it a lot…..I know how hard it can be going through this but that Gypsy girl has had a most amazing life thanks to you finding her outside the shop one day and letting her “run the store” all these years. She’s been great company for both you, JR and your customers. I’m sure she will ALWAYS be watching over you – love is absolutely FOREVER.

    Hugs, Pam

  3. Purrayers and purrs and Power of the Paw to sweet Gypsy, and you and all her care team.

  4. Not the news anyone wanted to hear but I know Gypsy will have quality time with you for as long as possible.

  5. Sorry you got such devastating news. Gypsy is in my prayers.

  6. Disappointed that the news received wasn’t better, but thankful that she’s still enjoying life with the best Pawrents she could have stumbled upon.
