Monday Morning Mews: My New Friend

Good morning, effuryone!  Coco, here, to fill you in on something that happened last week.

As you may remember, when I was adopted by my ‘motor pawrents’ a little over a year ago, I was very timid and unsure of my new surroundings. It took me a few weeks of living in the guest room before I began to venture out to explore the rest of the house.

During that time, Motor Mommy spent LOTS of time with me, feeding me, petting me, playing with me, so I learned to trust her rather quickly.  It took a little longer with Motor Man, but now we’re friends. AND after his cataract surgery a few weeks ago, I willingly jumped up in his lap because I thought he’d appreciate a little attention from “Nurse Coco”.  If you missed that post, you can read it here.

Motor Mommy’s son, Marshall, visits occasionally. but in the past, when I’d hear someone else in the house, I’d run and hide.  Motor Mommy has really been wanting Marshall and me to become friends, in case she and Motor Man go out of town for a day or two, and he needs to come and check on me.  Last week, he came for a quick visit, and guess what?

When he came in the room, he spoke very softly to me, and took his time walking over to where I was lounging in my window hammock.  He told me that he ‘s a kitty lover, too, so I decided it was safe to let him pet me.

He and Motor Mommy were very surprised and happy.  I am, too: I have a new friend!
