Poetic Thursday: Nap Time

It’s Thursday again, and that means it’s time for poetry. Our friend, Pam, and her kitties, Teddy and Angel Sammy, at Two Spoiled Cats, gave us this photo for our inspiration today:

And here’s my poem:

Nap Time

Mom said: “Shhhh!”, your baby sister’s asleep.
So I’m making a promise I’m planning to keep.

When she’s napping, I’ll play with my quiet toys,
and not the ones that make so much noise.

But I just cannot wait for the day
when my baby sister is old enough to play.

  1. You and I had the same idea for a poem today! We do that often…….”great minds” right? Thanks for joining the fun for Poetry Day!

Pam (and Teddy and Angel Sam too)

  2. That’s so sweet. And funny that you and Angel Sammy had the same theme!

  3. Loving the poem. It reminds me of when the boys were little and we would tell them the baby’s asleep upstairs. To quiet them down. ♥️🌹🤗

  4. Very sweet poem. You and Pam had similar ones this week. XOCK, angels Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid & Sawyer, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy, Kizmet, Audrey, Raleigh, Gibbs & Tali

  5. Reminds me of our “shhhh…” discussion at breakfast this morning !

  6. How sweet! I love the sentiment and the poem. I had a similarly posed wooden statue (10″ high) in the Library to remind my students to remember to be quiet for those who were reading. The memory made me smile too.
