Yesterday’s road trip found Motor Man and me in Edenton, NC. We’ve visited that quaint little town (about an hour and a half from us) several times before. But we found a new adventure there yesterday.
As we were driving into town, we saw a sign for a trolley tour. We signed up for it and had about an hour to wait. The weather was perfect, so we had a picnic in the waterside park in downtown Edenton. (We always pack a picnic lunch for our Sunday drives.)
That’s such a picturesque area, we were glad to have our tripod with us.
This is the Roanoke River Lighthouse. It was built in 1887, and moved to this location in 2007, then fully renovated.
We ‘cruised’ around town for a little while until it was time for our trolley tour.
Our driver, Chris, and narrator, John, both did an excellent job. It was a very entertaining tour. We learned quite a bit about the historic homes, outbuildings and history of Edenton.
I thought this little dog “cairn” in a flowerbed was adorable.
Another Sunday fun-day full of memories added to our list.
