Monday Morning Mews: One Of My Ancestors, Purrhaps?

Good morning, efurryone! It’s Coco, here, once again, with a little mews.

Today, I have something special to share. Something that Motor Mommy found last week, and then Motor Man was able to see yesterday.

That little paw print was recently discovered on the Eastern Shore of Virginia by a team of archeologists at historic Eyreville Farm.  They have dated it to the 1600’s.  Apparently, that little kitty wanted to leave a ‘lasting impression’.

My pawrents have visited Eyreville many times over the past few years; Motor Man has done one trail ride there, and Motor Mommy has done several.

Just look at this view.  The farm is located on Cherrystone Creek, and inlet off the Chesapeake Bay.

This structure was built in the 1940’s specifically for Oyster Roasts. (Motor Mommy was riding Chino last week.)

Records show that folks have been living on this property since the 1600’s.

And, although more than likely, there have been many kitties here through the years, now there’s definitely proof of one.

Motor Mommy said that I should share this link with you, so you can read all about Eyreville Farm. https://www.eyreville.com/history

Love, Coco
