“Camera Hog”

The idea for this post came about a couple of weeks ago as a result of the final picture in today’s post.  I didn’t realize just how many folks, over the past few years, have taken pictures of me taking pictures.

This would be a good time to explain how I have come to take so many photos. “Way back in 2000, Motor Man and I were planning a trip to California. At the time, we had a tiny digital camera. He wanted to upgrade for something nicer before our trip. While we were at the store, looking at different models, he asked which one I liked. I made the comment that it should be his choice, because I wasn’t going to “lug around” a big camera like that….

(clearing my throat) ….Those are words that I have “eaten” many, many, many times since then.  In the years since, Motor Man has told everyone that he’s not allowed to touch our camera. (Not true….)

So today, I thought it would be fun to share photos that have been taken of me using OUR camera…not mine: OURS.

This first one was taken by our friend, Bev, in January of 2012. She and her husband had taken Motor Man and me to Corolla to see the horses. This trip, basically, began our obsession with visiting that area.

During the summer of 2012, after purchasing our 4-wheel-drive Jeep, Motor Man and I took our former neighbor, Susie, to Corolla to see the horses, and she took this picture. We later sold the Jeep (and now have a Tahoe), but that Jeep was fun, and I love this picture: the beach, the sunrise, and Motor Man waiting patiently for us.

This colorful shot was taken by my friend, Donna, at sunrise in the Outer Banks, in July, 2015.

This next picture was taken by our friend, Pam, in September, 2016. It was also at Corolla (do you see a theme here?). Motor Man and I were giving her and her husband a tour of the area, and I was, of course, taking pictures of “my” horses.

Motor Man took this with his cell phone of me at an outdoor concert we attended in August, 2016.

And, finally, the inspiration for this post.  Recently, around the time of sunset, we were crossing a little bridge near our house. Motor Man dropped me off, so I could take a picture (imagine that). After crossing the bridge, he turned around and came back for me. There’s a tiny, waterfront restaurant near the bridge, and our friends, Terry and Sindee, just happened to be there at the time having dinner.  On the lower right, the sunset is reflected in the water.

I suppose all these pictures just reinforce what Motor Man has said all these years.

My name is Dianna, and I AM a camera hog.
