SOOCP (straight out of the cell phone).
This photo was taken on a recent trip to the Outer Banks. It had been overcast earlier in the morning, but the sun was just starting to break through the clouds and was reflecting in the water.
I took this (while leaning out of the passenger side window) with my cell phone, and it has not been edited in any way.
Although SOOC (straight out of the camera) shots are much preferred, I will occasionally straighten, crop, lighten or darken a picture. My edits are always very limited though. Extreme photo-shopping makes for dramatic photos, but that’s rarely the effect I want.
Of course, we had our regular camera with us that day (and I took MANY pictures with it), but I used my cell phone for this one so I could send it to Marshall.
But, as with all my photos, I take no credit for this shot: we just happened to be in the right place at the right time. With a cell phone.

Oh, How BEAUTIFUL and PEACEFUL! I’d just look to pull up a beach chair and enjoy it, but enjoying your picture is the next best thing.
It is a dramatic shot……looks so nice and quiet……before anyone else was around I’m sure!

Great dramatic photo! I love it. I do very little editing on my photos too, so almost all of them are SOOC. I rarely take photos with my cell phone though — just usually ones I’m text messaging to my kids.
“Dramatic” would be the right word !
That’s an epic blue cutting through the center ..
Magnificent photo. You have a true photographer’s eye for capturing the perfect setting regardless of what type camera you use. That’s an awesome talent you have there.
Cell phone or not it is a amazing picture.
I like it! Cell phones have come a long way!
That is so eerily beautiful, yet warm somehow. Just lovely.
So beautiful!!! What a lovely peaceful scene. It lifts My heart.
We would LOVE to use that photo for one of Nellie’s Monday Sparks!
