Poetic Thursday: The Artist’s Intent

Once again, I’m participating in Pam’s Poetic Thursday. Visit Pam and her “boys”, Teddy and Angel Sammy at Two Spoiled Cats to see other poems inspired by this beautiful picture:

Here’s my poem:

The Artist’s Intent

Boats and fog and morning gold,
frozen and glistening, winter cold.

Travel by boat will have to wait
til the waters thaw at a later date.

Meanwhile, enjoy the view that’s been sent,
for that, most certainly, is the Artist’s intent.

This poem was fun to write; not nearly as challenging as some in the past.

  1. Excellent! It’s rather a “dreamy” photo isn’t it….cold yes but still it draws you into its’ world with the colors the sun supplies. Thanks for participating in Angel Sammy’s poetry challenge this week.

    Pam and Teddy too

  2. Sort of like “stop and smell the roses”. It is a beautiful, calming photo because there’ll be rest from work today for the boat owner.

  3. Shirley Matthews Dunn

Perfect poem for this shot. Nice job.

  4. Well done ! Fitting for this morning – pretty cold out there !

  5. Dianna, you are such a great poet! I mean that sincerely. I loved this one especially because those spectacular views are our Great Artist’s intent for us to enjoy.
