Poetic Thursday: Shall We Dance

Another week has flown by. Once again, it’s time for poetry with Pam and her boys at Two Spoiled Cats.

Well, just as last week’s poem came easy for me, this one was a stretch, since I am no dancer.

Here’s my poem:

Shall We Dance

Since she was little, she’s wanted to dance;
waiting for the day she’d have her chance.

Years of practice came easy to her.
She’d get her big break, of that she was sure.

Her hard work paid off, she commands the floor,
always leaving her audience wanting more.

She and her partner complete each other;
neither can imagine dancing with another.

Strong, yet elegant, their talent shines through,
it’s obvious to all that they love what they do.

  1. Good job!!! They look like a perfect dance couple – I wonder if she gets blisters on her feet???? LOL

  2. Ah, Yes! If only I didn’t have 2 left feet! I dreamed your dream with you. Perfect poem!

  3. Great job! I love to dance and started lessons at 3 through 16. I can’t sit still when the music plays. Problem is…where in the world can a 70 year old tap dance except in their own home?

  4. I can’t dance well but I sure do love watching those who can. That’s why I like watching the TV show, “Dancing With the Stars.”

  5. Yes they do love what they do and proof positive practice makes purrfect
