No particular subject for today’s post, just some random thoughts.
1. ) We have really been enjoying the bluebirds this year. After seeing a pair earlier in the spring, we put out meal worms in open feeders. We soon realized that wouldn’t work, because for the first time ever, we had starlings…. DROVES of them. They cleaned out the meal worms in no time at all. And meal worms are expensive.
So, my talented Motor Man built a bluebird feeder with openings too small for the starlings. Here’s a short video I took on Saturday of both the female and male feeding.
2.) We took a day trip to the Outer Banks yesterday. It was a drizzly/cool/breezy day, but we did find some horses.
3.) You don’t seem to hear much about Flag Day (June 14) these days. Long may she wave.
4.) Marshall sent me this picture recently of his cat, “Screamer”, just ‘hanging out’ on the roof of the house. Guess he likes living on the edge. Although, at first glance, he appears to be asleep, if you zoom in, you’ll see that one eye is just slightly open. If you know anything about cats, you know they like to keep an eye on what’s happening around them.
5.) Motor Man and I have a busy week with medical appointments (thankfully, just regular check-ups), haircuts and….. a special occasion tomorrow.
So I’ll have a Tuesday post this week in addition to my regularly scheduled ones. Tune in tomorrow!
~These Days Of Mine~
Have a lovely “random” week!
Pam
what a lovely mix of pics!
bluebirds are always good to have around – they’ll catch your eye from across the yard … I actually had a customer mention Flag Day yesterday.. and Screams is doin’ the old cat thing – watching every move with one narrow slit ; )
Wonderful images. Love the sunset in the flag shot.
That feeder was a smart idea.
Love the bluebird feeder – how clever! Love the horses – ALWAYS! We flew our flag too. And that cat…….so cool! What a picture. Great randomness! Looking forward to tomorrow’s post.
Great RFM. Great topics and pics
