Poetic Thursday: Through The Tunnel

It’s time once again for Poetic Thursday with Pam, Teddy and Angel Sammy at Two Spoiled Cats.

This is the photo they provided for this week’s inspiration.

And here is my poem:

Through The Tunnel

When you see this picture, what comes to mind?
Faeries? Gnomes? Something of the kind?

Perhaps, but it takes me away
to a cozy drive on any given Sunday.

Just off the beach, beyond the dune,
our next visit can’t come too soon.

Sun makes it nice, but even in rain,
I just can’t wait to go back again.

A path off the beach or a faery’s den?
One is real, the other pretend.

Come through the tunnel; you’ll want to stay.
We’ll see faeries or wild horses: what a fun day!

This is a picture I took last Sunday on our visit to Carova, NC.  It reminded me so much of the photo Pam provided for this week’s photo inspiration.

  1. Thanks for participating in Poetic Thursdays with us. The photo we gave everyone really seems to have inspired some wonderful poems – I think next week’s will do the same!

  2. Clever poem, Dianna! I’ll gladly go on the real path with you. 😀

  3. the two photos are so similar .. I can see the inspiration for your take on this pic – weaving in a horse-spotting journey with the scene here .. bravo! once again !

  5. Oh WOW!!! The similarity of the two photos is amazing. My first thought was fairies – a fairy garden. What clever poem.

I admire you so for taking up the poetic challenge every week!!
