Poetic Thursday: Bowling

As I’ve been doing for quite some time now, I’m taking part in Poetic Thursday with Pam and her boys at Two Spoiled Cats.

Here’s the photo for our inspiration this week:

And here’s my poem:

She wanted to go bowling, but had never been.
So that’s when her boyfriend stepped in.

He was a regular and had all the gear.
He said: “I can teach you to bowl right here”.

He taught her the steps right there in the hall,
being very careful with that bowling ball.

But once at the alley, she quickly got flustered:
her ball kept going right down the gutter.

One night of bowling, and I was done.
But these girls obviously had much more fun.

Yes, that was me (back in the day) that had the bowling lesson in the hallway, taught by the man who would become  my husband and Marshall’s dad.  This picture brought back memories of my less than stellar bowling experience.
