As I have been doing each week for quite some time, I’m participating today in Poetic Thursday over at Two Spoiled Cats.
This is the photo we were given by Pam and her boys for this week’s inspiration:
And here is my poem:
The Reason
It’s a Christmas party, and everyone’s here:
snowmen, Santa and all his reindeer.
Twinkling lights strung across the lawn,
and speakers playing holiday songs.
Christmas displays cover every inch
with toys, candy canes and even The Grinch.
It’s hard to find, but tucked in between
is a tiny, humble manger scene.
Things may change, but we stake this claim:
the Reason for the season remains the same.
Happy Thanksgiving to all my readers. Each day, may we realize and be grateful for all the many blessings in our lives.
~These Days Of Mine~
Sweet poem! Yes indeed – the reason for the season is the most important thing of all; always has been and always will be.
Pam
Great poem. Have a great Thanksgiving.
Love your poem and the reminder of the Real Reason for the season. Happy Thanksgiving. We truly do have much to be thankful for.
