Poetic Thursday: Wind Me Up

Time again for poetry here at These Days. Each Thursday, we join Pam and her kitties, Angel Sammy and Teddy, at Two Spoiled Cats  and share poetry inspired by a photo they provide.

This week’s photo:

And my poem:

Wind Me Up

Wind me up and watch me go.
Can’t get in a hurry! I have to go slow.

You won’t mind that you can’t go fast:
one hundred forty miles to a gallon of gas.

This little car is cute as can be,
but my four-door sedan works better for me.

Motor Man actually researched this picture online until he found information about this little car. You can read all about it here.

  1. Great poem for this totally cute little car. We researched it too but didn’t put up a link so thanks for doing that if people want more info. There are a number of “tiny car” manufacturers but this was one of the tiniest we could find for poetry day inspiration………….!

    Pam and Teddy too

  2. Very cool poem about a very interesting vehicle – that was a good read, too .. and it reminds me of the car Cousin It drove in the Addams Family movie..

  3. What a whacky vehicle, love your verse. Thanks for the extra info courtesy MotorMan. I never knew about this tiny car despite living in Britain!

  4. LOVE the gas mileage idea! Don’t know if our legs will fit! Love your poem and Motor Man’s research. I LOVE two things about Poetic Thursday: the variety of pictures as subject matter and your poetic treatments.

  5. MOL…now let’s wind it up and take a ride…MOL..Great poem! Pawkisses for a Happy Weekend🐾😽💞
