Thursday means time for poetry with Pam and her kitties, Teddy and Angel Sammy at Two Spoiled Cats.
We were given this photo for inspiration:
And here’s my poem:
Have It Your Way
Hold the pickle and hold the bun:
hamburger patties: I’d like just one.
Sauteed onions and cheese would be nice;
cheddar, please, and just one slice.
Add crispy bacon, and that will be all.
I just couldn’t handle a “burger” this tall.
It’s a “specialized burger”, I would guess;
does it come with enough napkins to cover the mess?
This takes burgers to a whole new height,
but how would you master that first bite?
~These Days Of Mine~
WOW!!! My first thought was how to get a mouth around THAT!!! Love your pared down version – that’s about all I could handle too. It would definitely take a knife and fork with many plates to share.
That was a challenging subject, but again. You handled wonderfully!

subject , I have noticed how big burgers are now! Have to unhinge my jawbone bite! And like your poem said. Lots of napkins!!!
No kidding!!!
I like how you started with your own order for the perfect burger, then went into your lines about this monstrosity…. I’ve never understood how people could eat one of these – It’s sort of like the huge lumberjack stack of pancakes ….. !
Wow, that is a hamburger for at least five!! You nailed it again, my friend. ❤
Good job! I knew this photo would cause some GIGANTICLY entertaining poetry to be written and I was right!
