Poetic Thursday:The Little Cabin

It’s poetry day here at These Days. Once again, I’m joining Pam, Teddy and Angel Sammy for Poetic Thursday.  You can see what they’re up to at Two Spoiled Cats.

Here’s the photo inspiration they gave us this week:

And here’s my poem:

The Little Cabin

A cozy little cabin in the snow;
the path’s all cleared: c’mon let’s go!

It’s a glistening, wintry wonderland scene,
cold and crisp, quiet and serene.

We’re so glad that little cabin has heat
to thaw our frozen hands and feet.

There’s just one thing missing, and it’s on the way:
our driver, Skip, and his horse and sleigh.

*Skip is our driver when we go on sleigh rides for our anniversary at Snowshoe, in West Virginia.

  1. Good job with this photo – I just keep thinking about what happens when the wind comes along and knocks all that snow off the trees!!! LOL

  2. Love the last two lines – they’re just right and make this world your own …
    it also reminds me a bit of a segment called ” Winter Lodge ” in a video game that came out a few years ago .. snow is everywhere, and you can see a cabin up ahead – & the glow of a fire through the open front door ..

    A wonderful poem for a beautiful picture!! 💖

  4. A perfect marriage of the two pictures. What a welcoming, cozy image expected inside that cottage.

  5. I love how you made this photo fit you & Motor Man on your sleigh rides!
