Today is our first Poetic Thursday of March. As usual, we’re joining our friend, Pam, and her kitties, Teddy and Angel Sammy, at Two Spoiled Cats, to share some poetry.
They provided us with this photo for inspiration this week:
Lasting
Ancient bricks in reds and grays:
a sheltered place on rainy days.
How many have walked here, who can say?
But that number grows every day.
Lovers slip in to steal a kiss;
sweet memories are made of this.
Many things in life too quickly pass,
but some, like this, were meant to last.
~These Days Of Mine~
It’s an amazing photo isn’t it. The beautiful stonework is gorgeous – it is a bit spooky though. Thanks for playing along with us for poetry day – I know this one was a bit of a challenge but you met it with a great poem!
Pam
The endless arches are beautiful. Sweet sentiment in your poem.
The photo is intriguing and your poem complements it well.
I like where you went with this one –
The brickwork, memories & love are lasting …..
I recently watched a movie that was was shot in Venice –
This image has the same feel as much of the footage in that movie ..
.. stonework … oops ..
Awesome picture with an awesome poem.
