It’s Thursday again; where does the time go? Time for poetry with Pam, Teddy and Angel Sammy at Two Spoiled Cats.
This is the inspiration photo we were given for this week:
And here’s my poem:
To Be A Child
Here’s a question for you, my friend:
if you could, would you be a child again?
Not for long, maybe a day,
but given the choice, you may want to stay.
No bills to pay, no worries or cares,
childhood innocence, no sad news to share.
Little ones live to play, hate to nap,
and love cuddle time on Mommy’s lap.
But those childhood days are in the past;
we were so naive to think they’d last.
So ride that scooter with the wind in your curls.
Soon enough, you’ll grow up to face the world.
~These Days Of Mine~
You pose a interesting question–would you go back in time to be a child again?
Great poem with interesting slant.

Well done!
Cute poem….I don’t think I’d go back….besides, my memories ARE a way of going back and if I did go back I would miss out on the incredible life I have had! There’s ALWAYS a part of us that remains a child though….always.

What a precious picture and the perfect reminiscent poem to go with it. Would I go back??? If I knew the innocence that I was living in then compared to today??? You prompted some neat memories for me.
I would not go back but childhood is a precious time
This here is a big question …
& would you want to go back with all the knowledge and experience you’ve accumulated ? or be a blank slate like you were at first ? just for that one day ..
So true & great poem.
